Cancer Support Group

Partners of Black River Memorial Hospital is announcing a new cancer support group for anyone who has been affected by cancer. The group is open to those who have experienced cancer of any type, those who are currently undergoing treatment, and those who are caregivers.

“The sessions will include brief educational topics, guest speakers, and time for open discussions,” says Kathleen Clemons, support group leader and five-year breast cancer survivor. “The group sessions are intended to be low-key and stress-free.”

The support group will be held the fourth Thursday of every month from 5:30-6:30p.m. at Black River Memorial Hospital’s Oak Room, or participants can choose to attend virtually. Participants will be able to share their experiences and learn practical information such as gaining coping skills, and how to better communicate with family and friends about their illness.

To register, visit brmh.net/cancersupport. If you choose the virtual option, a Zoom meeting invite will be sent to you before the meeting date. If you would like more information, please contact Clemons at 715-299-0870 or kathleen.clemons@ho-chunk.com.
